- India is among the top two countries globally in breast cancer related mortality for women aged 30-50 Preventable by screening and treatment of precancerous lesions.
- 85% of global burden of cervical cancer is in developing countries including India accounting for 25% of mortality.
- HPV infection is the causative factor, in about 95% of cervical cancer.
- Screening of High risk HPV subtypes is therefore recommended all over the world by WHO & FOGSI in india.
