Breast Screening and cervical cancer screening in the community with full participation of the community helps in early Detection of Breast mass and elimination of cervical HPV infection,which is the main causative factor of cervical cancer.

• Breast cancer accounts for 27% of all cancers in Indian women.
• India is among the top two countries globally in breast cancer related mortality for women aged 30-50 Preventable by screening and treatment of precancerous lesions.
• 85% of global burden of cervical cancer is in developing countries including India accounting for 25% of mortality.
• HPV infection is the causative factor, in about 95% of cervical cancer.
• Screening of High risk HPV subtypes is therefore recommended all over the world by WHO & FOGSI in india.
• For developing countries like India, a low cost screening method using Paper Smear Card is affordable.
• Screening Programmes with the participation of community will help to improve compliance between 30 and 50 years
